How many years should uPVC windows last?
- uPVC windows are a durable, low maintenance window design with a long lifespan which often exceeds 30 years. To get the best longevity from your uPVC windows, ensure that you choose industry-leading window profiles and have the windows fitted by reputable window installers. Window Warehouse's trusted network of local installers will check that the hinges, seals and fit is perfect. The Heritage flush sash window is guaranteed for 10 years, so you can invest in new uPVC windows with confidence.
-
Is a flush door waterproof?
- Deceuninck's Heritage flush door is fitted with a dual seal externally to maximise water tightness and conceal hardware. The doors also feature an integral drainage slope which encourages water to drain away. In weather tests, the single door low threshold option achieved a water tightness class of 9A - considered the highest level of performance. This test measures whether the door is resistant to water penetration under pressure.
-
What is the difference between flush and non flush windows?
- In simple terms, flush windows are designed to achieve a level surface as the sash and window frame is level, creating a sleek and seamless appearance. Non-flush windows, also known as 'lipped' or 'storm-proof' windows, have sashes which protrude out from the window frame. For more information about the key differences, read our blog.

Are wood effect windows right for period properties?
- Wood-effect uPVC flush sash windows are a great choice for period properties. The flush external contours are in-keeping with traditional window styles and meet the requirements for most conservation officers. Adding Georgian bars, traditonal peg stays and realistic timber effect foils can also help to achieve the chocolate box window look which works so well on buildings with character.
